Serviceberry (Amelanchier Canadensis)

Zone 3/2-8m shade tolerant- Like white clouds, the serviceberry blossoms usher the hedgerows into the spring. Usually a muli-stemmed plant. The fruits are small but highly edible and loved by birds. In fall the flames of yellow and orange round out this native denizen of wood edges.

Weeping Caragana (Caragana arborescens 'pendula' and 'walker')

The weeping caraganas create an effect not unlike a cascading waterfall. The variety is usually grafted on the top of an upright caragana to raise the prostrate plant so it falls toward the ground.
