Black Currant produces dark, black fruit in clusters, making it a favourite for jams, baking, and desserts. To ensure a successful harvest, two different varieties are needed for pollination. Our Black Currant selections are resistant to pine blister rust, a disease that affects currants and gooseberries as alternate hosts when not attacking white pine. Preferring moist, well-drained soil, this versatile and adaptable plant thrives in a variety of growing conditions, making it an excellent addition to any garden or orchard.

Varieties:

  1. Consort-Canadian introduction, medium sized, disease resistant, vigorous

  2. Titania-Consort cross produced in Sweden, medium to large sized, disease resistant, vigorous
