Corn Hill Nursery Cortland Apple

Cortland Apple

$39.00
CONTACT FOR AVAILABILITY

Zone 3 - New York. 1915 - Semi-dwarf rootstock

Dessert, cooking
Late season

Parentage: McIntosh × Ben Davis
Cortland has a distinctive flavour. The large, round fruit is yellow-green with red and some striping. One of the photos shows a deep red sport of Cortland. The flesh is juicy, and pure white, but not overly crisp. It has the coveted quality of not browning when cut. This apple will keep until December in cold storage, and until April in controlled atmosphere storage.

The tree is large, rounded, and spreading with a distinctive pendulous habit. It ripens in early October in New Brunswick. Cortland is quite susceptible to disease, such as apple scab, mildew, fireblight, and cedar apple rust. It is however resistant to canker, and collar rot.
