Parentage: Unknown
A medium bitter-sweet apple that is being used for cider. It was found by Claude Jolicoeur in Baie-Saint-Paul along the north shore of the St. Lawrence River in Quebec. He believes it was a rootstock that overtook the original graft. He took scions and grafted them into his orchard in Petite-Riviere-St-Francois. It is conical and medium sized with a yellow-green background that is partially striped and blushed slightly red. Douce de Charlevoix is touted as resistant to scab. This apple will produce a French style cider.
