Frontenac grapes are celebrated for their complex notes of cherry, blackberry, and plum, with hints of spice, making them an excellent choice for crafting robust red wines or fortified dessert wines. Developed by the University of Minnesota, this grape thrives in northern climates, offering reliable productivity even in challenging conditions. Best grown in well-drained soil with a pH of 6–7.
