Syringa × ‘Andenken an Ludwig Spaeth’
Very fragrant, upright panicles of deep purple blossoms. An old cultivar with some of the darkest blooms. Healthy and prolific. Ours at the nursery is over 35 years old and produces faithfully every year. Always stops traffic. Plant in moist well drained (never wet) soil. Lime acidic soils as they do best in a neutral soil (pH 6-7). Grow in full sun. Pruning off flower heads when they finish will produce an even production of flowers every year.
