Zone 4a - USA. Bowditch, 1919 - 0.5m / 1.5ft

Parentage: Rosa rugosa × Rosa wichuraiana

Max Graf has a low branching structure that makes it a good groundcover. The flower is single and nonrecurrent, and lightly scented with 5 deep pink petals and deep yellow stamens. Seed from this normally sterile cultivar was used by Kordes of Germany to create long-shooted, disease resistant hardy cultivars, and breeders have continued to use those genetics to produce many of the hardy roses we grow today.
