Corn Hill Nursery New Brunswicker Apple

New Brunswicker Apple

$39.00

Zone 3 - Upper Woodstock, New Brunswick. late 19th century - Dwarf rootstock

Dessert, cooking
Early season

Parentage Under Review: believed to be a seedling of Duchess, but recent DNA suggests it is identical to Duchess. Stay tuned…
This apple is both historically important, and is a hardy, healthy and long-lived tree in New Brunswick. However, it is early to mid-season and does not keep long. It is naturally a rather small tree. New Brunswick apples are medium sized round fruit with a yellow background that becomes blushed and prominently marked with red striping. The fruit is crisp but will break down if not refrigerated immediately. This apple is good for fresh eating during season, makes great sauces and pies, and also dries well.
