Zone 4 - 3m / 10ft - Cornus alternifolia

A choice, small native tree with a layered horizontal branching habit. Cream coloured flowers in spring followed by purple-black fruits relished by the birds. Note that this tree is susceptible to golden canker. If you notice a yellowish coating on the surface of a branch remove it to stop the infection. If noticed early this disease can be controlled easily.
