This bush is vigorous and upright to arching with deep olive-green foliage that is very disease resistant, though a bit of blackspot may appear on older leaves. Its stems are well armed with prickles. Its flowers are large and quintessentially fragrant, among the pinnacles of scent. Globular buds open to a reddish-purple blossom.
