Pasque flower. Pulsatilla vulgaris

A wonderful spring bloomer that emerges with leaves covered in silky hairs followed by deep purple flowers. What looks like petals are actually extended sepals. Seed heads are feathery and dance on arching stems. Goes dormant in summer. A very desirable and ornamental plant.
