Its original name is Rotesmeer. Purple Pavement is a rapid spreader making it ideal for covering large areas. We use it as a cover for a large bank, which eliminates the need for weeding or mowing. It is not low growing as the name suggests. The flowers are among the deepest coloured of the rugosa hybrids. Their colour is reddish-purple with a strong sweet fragrance.
